Dr. Daniel Buser is a Professor and Chairman of the Department of Oral Surgery at the University of Bern, Switzerland. He had three internships at Harvard University in Boston from 1989 – to 1991, at Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas in 1995, and the University of Melbourne from 2007 – to 2008.

He has been president of several academic associations including the European Association of Osseointegration (EAO) in 1996/97, the Swiss Society of Oral Implantology (SSOI) in 1999 – 2002, the Swiss Society of Oral Implantology and Dentistry (SSOS) in 2002 – 2007 and the International Team of Implantology in 2009 – 2013. Today he is a member of the board of directors of the Osteology Foundation (since 2004) and has been president of the Swiss Implantology Foundation since 2007.

Dr. Daniel Buser has been honored with numerous academic awards from organizations such as the International Team of Implantology, the American Academy of Periodontology, and the American Oral and Maxillofacial Association. In 2011 he received the title of Honorary Professor of the University of Buenos Aires and in 2013 the Brånemark Award for Osseointegration from the Osseointegration Foundation / Academy of Osseointegration.

His main areas of expertise and study are tissue regeneration around implants, surface technology, and guided bone regeneration. He is the author of over 300 publications, case studies, and textbooks, including treatment guidelines.
